Sonali Bendre Behl, born on January 1, 1975, is an Indian actress and model who predominantly worked in Hindi cinema and also appeared in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Marathi films. Bendre completed her schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bangalore, and is an alumna of Ramnarain Ruia College in Mumbai. She made her acting debut in 1994 with K Ravi Shankar's action drama film 'Aag'. The movie won her the Filmfare Award for Lux New Face of the Year as well as the Star Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer. In 1994, Bendre also appeared in 'Naaraaz', which won her the Filmfare Sensational Debut award. However, her first commercial success was the action-romance film 'Diljale' in 1996. Some of her notable roles were in 'Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai', 'Hum Saath-Saath Hain', 'Zakhm', 'Major Saab', Sarfarosh', and 'Kal Ho Naa Ho', among others. Her role in the blockbuster hit psychological thriller Kannada film 'Preethse' (2000) won much critical acclaim. She also served as a host on the reality TV dance show 'Kya Masti Kya Dhoom....!' in 2001. She is married to filmmaker Goldie Behl, and they have a son named Ranveer.
